The Minnesota Twins home opener this (MON) afternoon will feature a special “Stand Up To Cancer” theme. As a show of support for Twins GM Terry Ryan and others impacted by cancer, players from the Twins and the A’s are wearing SU2C patches. Team Spokesperson Kevin Smith says there will also be a tribute during the game to honor those battling cancer. Smith says this is the first time Major League Baseball has allowed a team to do this in the regular season. “Take Me out to the Ballgame” will be performed in the 7th inning by Hope Kids, an organization that provides activities for children battling cancer.
