The New Ulm Public Utilities Commission is scheduled to award a bid for the reconditioning of the city’s airport water tower this (TUE) evening. The tower was constructed in 1988, and the reconditioning project will protect the interior and exterior metals for another 20 years. It also includes several other upgrades, including to the handrails at the top of the tower, which will be replaced with a system capable of accommodating cell phone antenna equipment. The entire project is expected to cost $268,000. The meeting begins at 5pm today at New Ulm City Hall.
