A Montevideo man indicted in what the FBI once characterized as a terror plot to blow up the Montevideo Police Station has been sentenced to 40 months in prison. 25-year-old Buford “Bucky” Rogers will receive credit for the year he’s already spent in jail since dozens of law enforcement officers raided his parents’ mobile home in Montevideo last May. Rogers and his family reportedly belonged to an anti-government group called the Black Snake Militia. He was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to one count of possessing a firearm illegally and one count of possessing an unregistered destructive device. The federal judge that tried the case says that it received an “inordinate amount of attention” for what turned out to be an ordinary weapons possession offense.
