The deadline to sign up for health care coverage through the state’s health insurance exchange is now passed. Officials with MNsure announced Tuesday that a total of 169,251 Minnesotans had successfully enrolled as of the Monday night deadline. On that last day of enrollment, MNsure received a total of 28,165 calls, with an average wait time of 31 minutes per-call. The MNsure contact center received more than 111,000 calls throughout the month of March, or approximately 35% of the total number of people enrolled. The online health insurance marketplace will now be down for maintenance until Thursday morning, and the next open enrollment period begins November 15th.
