Man Allegedly Brands Girlfriend 19 Apr 14

A rural North Mankato man was taken to the New Ulm Detox Center this week after allegedly branding his girlfriend on the buttock with a hot fire poker. 37-year-old Leroy Ryrie was charged with multiple counts of felony assault in Nicollet County Court for the incident. When police arrested Ryrie at the scene, he allegedly said: “I got out of hand tonight.” The woman’s injury was classified as a second-degree burn, and Ryrie was taken to the Nicollet County Jail, but due to his high intoxication level he was then taken to the detox center. His first appearance in court is scheduled for Tuesday.
