Local FFA Proficiency Awards 29 Apr 14

The 85th Minnesota FFA Convention continues today (TUE) at the U of M Twin Cities campus, and a total of 5 Sleepy Eye students received FFA Proficiency Awards on Monday. The Sleepy Eye FFA students recognized included: Brandon Roiger, Emily Kjelshus, Jake Trebesch, Tia Cselovszki, and Brandon Kral. Other state proficiency winners from the local area were Sam Klaers of Wabasso, Trevor Serbus of Cedar Mountain, Paige Larsen from BOLD, and Nick Timmerman of Tracy Area Schools. Fifteen FFA chapters were recognized for their efforts to increase agricultural literacy in their communities as well. Chapters from the local area recognized in that category include: Cedar Mountain, Glencoe-Silver Lake, Hutchinson, Martin County West, Sleepy Eye, and Springfield. More than 4,000 FFA members, advisors and guests are taking part in the state convention.
