Firing Of MSU Coach Unjustified 11 Apr 14

An arbitrator has ruled that MSU-Mankato was wrong to dismiss football coach Todd Hoffner, and that his four-year contract should be reinstated. Child pornography charges were filed against Hoffner in 2012 after nude images of his young children dancing were found on his work cell phone, but those charges were later dropped after a judge determined the images were innocent. The arbitrator says Hoffner’s suspension and firing were not for just cause. Hoffner’s attorney is calling for a “house-cleaning” at MSU. School officials have not commented on the ruling. Hoffner is currently coaching at Minot State, and says he is “weighing his options.”
