Distracted Driving Crackdown Results 22 Apr 14

A total of 550 Minnesota motorists were ticketed for texting-while-driving during the 10-day distracted-driving enforcement campaign that ended Sunday.  Traffic Safety Office Director Donna Berger says those number of citations in such a short time period shows that far too many drivers still make poor choices while behind the wheel. Law enforcement issued nearly 1,400 citations for not wearing seatbelts and 25 tickets for not using child restraints during the enforcement campaign as well. Fifteen drivers were arrested for DWI also.
