Ceylon Sunday Liquor Vote Coming 30 Apr 14

Residents of the small town of Ceylon will be voting on Sunday liquor sales in 2 weeks. The owner of Legends Bar and Grill in Ceylon has reportedly collected over 400 signatures on a petition calling for on-sale Sunday liquor sales, and he will also be paying for the special election on the issue, which will take place May 13th. Minnesota state law says no on-site sales of intoxicating liquor may be made after 2am on Sundays unless a Sunday sale law is passed by the voters in a general or special election. Ceylon’s neighboring communities of Fairmont, Truman, Welcome and Granada all have Sunday liquor sales laws already in place.
