The Brown County Board on Tuesday agreed to sponsor a $170,000 Legacy Grant application for the Brown County Historical Society. The funding would go towards a $210,000 project at the Brown County Museum that Historical Society Director Bob Burgess says will involve updating the cooling systems at the museum, which have been running at half-capacity in recent years. Other sources of funds for the project would include $20,000 from the historical society, and the Brown County Board agreed to contribute $20,000 as well. Historical Society President Anne Earl says the proposed work would be Phase 1 of a possible 3 phases. If approved, the Legacy Grant will be awarded to Brown County next year. In other business Tuesday, the county board reviewed the recently released 2014 County Health Rankings and approved the re-appointment of Brown County Highway Engineer Wayne Stevens for another 3-year term.
