The Brown County Board today (TUE) is scheduled to consider sponsoring a $170,000 Legacy Grant application from the Brown County Historical Society. The funding would be used towards a $210,000 heating, ventilation and air conditioning project at the Brown County Museum. Other sources of funds for the project would include $40,000 in cash matches and $20,000 from Brown County. In other business, the county board will review the recently released 2014 County Health Rankings. Out of the state’s 87 counties, Brown County ranked 22nd in overall health outcomes and 37th in health factors. Neighboring county rankings include Nicollet County in 9th place overall and 4th in health factors, Blue Earth at 30th overall and 19th in health factors, Sibley at 33rd overall and 57th in health factors, and Watonwan County at 44th and 78th. The Brown County Board meeting starts at 9am today at the county courthouse in New Ulm.
