The Arlington City Council is scheduled to again discuss the RS Fiber Cooperative proposal during its meeting this (MON) evening. This comes after the Council voted to rejoin the RS Fiber Joint Powers Board last month, but the measure was vetoed by Arlington Mayor Jim Kreft. The resolution was then returned to the city administrator, and Kreft is expected to detail his objections during the meeting this evening, which starts at 6:30pm in Arlington. The Council is also expected to be voting on the same resolution, but a four-fifths vote is now needed for adoption. RS Fiber is a multi-million dollar proposal to bring high-speed internet, phone and cable tv to communities in Renville and Sibley Counties.
