Three people are dead after a head-on crash on Highway 169 Sunday, including a 5-year-old St. Peter girl. The crash happened at around 1pm Sunday about 3 miles north of Mankato. A Dodge Caliber driven by 36-year-old Lindi Paul of St. Peter crossed the centerline and collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 65-year-old Michael O’Boyle of Marion, South Dakota. Paul and her 5-year-old daughter Emma and O’Boyle were all killed in the crash. A 4-year-old Minnesota girl in O’Boyle’s vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries. His other passengers, a 65-year-old Marion, South Dakota woman and an 8-year-old Minnesota boy suffered non life-threatening injuries. Traffic on 169 was being diverted for several hours after the crash occurred. It remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
