The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority says that most of the Metrodome will be recycled as the Vikings’ former home is demolished. The plans call for more than 80% of the material that is being hauled away to be recycled. The Metrodome is being torn down to make way for a new nearly-billion dollar Vikings stadium. The demolition is scheduled to be completed next month. The excavation for the new stadium is nearly 50% complete now as well, and some of the concrete for the new stadium has already been poured. The construction of the new stadium is scheduled to be completed in July of 2016.
