State Employee Pay Hike Passed 11 Mar 14

The Minnesota Senate has voted to give state employees a pay hike – but beginning in 2015 they will have to pay 5% more of their health care premiums as well. DFL Senator James Metzen says it’s been a long time since the paychecks of state employees got any larger. He says that during a 3-year period more than half of our state employees saw 0% pay increases. The labor agreement calls for a 3% pay hike and covers 38,000 state employees represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees…the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees…and the Minnesota Law Enforcement Association.
