Sleepy Eye Grief Counseling Today 10 Mar 14

Sleepy Eye High School will be open to students today (MON), despite a day off from classes, after 4 young people were killed in a Friday night car crash. Sleepy Eye administrators will open the school from 10am to noon for students to gather and deal with the deaths. Today was scheduled as an in-service day for teachers. Eighteen-year-old John Mangen and 20-year-old Tyler Hadley recently graduated from Sleepy Eye High School. 17-year-old Caleb Quesenberry attended Springfield High School, and 17-year-old Payton Adams went to Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s. Three of them were not wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred. Nineteen-year-old Kansas Adams was driving the car when it slid into the path of a pickup on an icy Highway 14 just outside of Sleepy Eye. He is hospitalized in critical condition. The pickup driver, 43-year-old Douglas Wiborg of New Ulm and his two children are hospitalized with non-critical injuries.
