Law enforcement officials are focusing on seatbelt use from this weekend through the end of the month. Nearly 400 agencies throughout the state are participating in this latest Click It Or Ticket campaign. State Patrol Lieutenant Eric Roeske says there are still about 150 deaths and 400 serious injuries a year involving motorists who are not buckled up in our state. In Minnesota, drivers and passengers in all seating positions must be buckled up or in the correct child restraint. Roeske says that if you’re pulled over for not wearing a seat belt, be prepared to pay fines in excess of $100.
