Minnesota Agriculture Week continues, and today (TUE) is National Agriculture Day. Every American farmer feeds approximately 160 people, and there are a total of 2.1-million farms in the US. The 915-million acres of farm land in our country brought in a record $394.6-billion worth of agricultural sales in 2012, with Minnesota ranked 5th in the US in total ag sales. The average amount of agricultural sales per-farm in the US in 2012 was just over $187,000. Minnesota had nearly 5,400 farms with total ag sales of a million dollars or more in 2012 as well, just about double the number of 5 years earlier.
