MN House Talks Privacy Issues 12 Mar 14

Legislation aimed at curbing the use of high-tech surveillance by law enforcement and others got an airing in the Minnesota House Tuesday. The House Public Safety and Finance Committee had hearings on a package of bills on privacy. One bill would apply both to public sector and private users of the unmanned aerial devices known as drones, making it a felony for someone to capture images from someone’s property without permission. The privacy legislation has cut across party lines and is expected to be among the hotter topics of the short legislative session.
