A Mankato man who was on the run from police for nearly a month earlier this year after allegedly robbing a convenience store and stealing a car is now facing new felony charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. 23-year-old Thomas Kendricks III was arrested in early February in Minnesota Lake, and the girl was with him at the time. She had been reported missing more than a week before they were found together, and investigators discovered evidence that the two had been having sex. Kendricks now faces 3 counts of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct. He and a 17-year-old North Mankato boy are also facing felony charges for allegedly robbing a LeHillier convenience store in January and stealing a car from a woman near MSU. The teen was arrested after a police standoff in Austin later that day, but Kendricks escaped and wasn’t captured until he was found in Minnesota Lake.
