A Gaylord man is facing two felony assault charges after an alleged case of “Road Rage” in Sibley County last week. It happened Friday on Highway 19 just east of Winthrop. A semi-truck driver told authorities that he was forced to drive onto the shoulder after a car driven by 49-year-old Gary Robert Janckila swerved into his lane. Janckila’s car then allegedly passed the semi a short time later, and then stopped directly in front of the truck. The trucker claimed that when he got out of his vehicle he was punched in the head by Janckila, and when he went to get the car’s license plate number Janckila allegedly ran over his leg. Janckila remains in custody in the Sibley County Jail, with bail set at $5,000 cash or a $75,000 bond, and is scheduled to be in court today (THU).
