Two Mankato teens were hospitalized Monday afternoon following a crash that shut down part of Highway 22 near St. Clair. It happened at around 4:45pm Monday at the intersection with Blue Earth County Road 90. A Ford Super Duty was traveling southbound on Highway 22 when a Saturn LS1 heading east on the county road pulled out in front of the truck and the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Saturn, 16-year-old Elizabeth Eccles was taken to the Mankato Mayo Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, while her passenger, 14-year-old Aliyah Eccles was flown to St. Mary’s in Rochester with a non life-threatening head injury. The driver of the Super Duty, 59-year-old David Rigdon of Good Thunder was not injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol.
