The New Ulm City Council will be considering a request later today (TUE) that would bring the plans to build a grocery co-op in the community closer to a reality. The council is being asked to amend an existing historic building Conditional Use Permit for the building at 526 South Minnesota Street in New Ulm in order for it to be used as a cooperative grocery store. The permit was recently approved by the New Ulm Planning Commission as well. In other business today, the council will hear a report on the 2013 New Ulm Archery Deer Hunt control program and make appointments to the Economic Development Authority and the Heritage Preservation Commission. The New Ulm City Council meeting starts at 4:30pm today at city hall due to precinct caucuses later in the evening.
