A former police officer accused of using social media to try to lure girls into sexual encounters has pleaded guilty. 33-year-old Bradley Schnickel had been scheduled to go on trial starting Monday, but instead pleaded guilty to five counts of criminal sexual conduct for solicitation of minors. He could face nearly 12 years in prison under the plea agreement. Last summer, Schnickel was sentenced to a year in the Hennepin County workhouse and six years of probation after pleading guilty to sending nude photographs of himself to two teenage girls while serving as a Minneapolis police officer. He was fired from the force last February. Schnickel worked for the Glencoe Police Department for over 2 years beginning in June 2005, but none of the crimes occurred while he was in that community.
