A 61-year-old Fairmont woman accused of robbing a shopper at the Fairmont Wal-Mart store last November has been sentenced to 120 days in jail for the incident. Freda Jean Jahnke pleaded guilty to felony robbery as part of a plea deal. She had reportedly confronted a woman at the Wal-Mart, telling her she had a gun. When the shopper walked away and left her purse in a cart, Jahnke reportedly took the purse and left the store. She was arrested later that night, and investigators later determined that no gun was used. Jahnke has already served 90 days in jail since the incident occurred. She will also serve 15 years on supervised probation, must pay restitution and have no contact with the victim, is prohibited from entering the Fairmont Wal-Mart, and can only enter other retail stores if she is accompanied by a responsible adult.
