Governor Dayton has checked out of Mayo Clinic after hip surgery. Dayton left the Rochester clinic Friday and returned to the governor’s residence in St. Paul. He checked into Mayo on Monday where he underwent the surgical procedure to alleviate pain in his hip. The 67-year-old governor has now had three procedures at Mayo since taking office, including back surgery in December 2012 and a platelet injection last October to heal a torn hip muscle. Dayton plans to work at his residence while recuperating from the latest procedure, and will limit travel for up to three months while he wears a brace to help with his recovery.
