County Attorney Pay Rejected 04 Feb 14

The lawyer representing the Blue Earth County Attorney’s Office in a suit against the Blue Earth County Board has rejected a salary plan for the county’s assistant attorneys. The county board had been sued over the pay levels of the assistant attorneys, and was then found in contempt of court after failing to design a salary plan that met specific conditions. In a letter to Judge Robert Walker, Blue Earth County Attorney Kenneth White suggests that the county board is “In an Alice in Wonderland world” in relation to the salary issues. The letter goes on to say that the Board’s recent salary proposal fails to undertake the analysis required by Judge Walker’s ruling, and asks the judge to reject the proposal.
