A Lake Lillian man is awaiting extradition to North Dakota on charges that he stole a payloader. 42-year-old Chad Lee Monson is the owner of Monson Excavating of Willmar. He is accused of going to a gravel pit in rural Divide County in North Dakota last year and driving off with a payloader valued at more than $50,000. Monson is also being charged with being a fugitive from justice from another state, and made his first appearance in court on that charge this week, and he waived extradition. He’s facing up to 20 years of prison in North Dakota. 32-year-old Joshua Bruce Monson and 41-year-old John Russell Jacobson, both of Willmar, are also facing felony charges in North Dakota for allegedly going to the same gravel pit and driving away with a trailer and tank containing about 250 gallons of diesel fuel.
