Wild Play Tonight,Harding & Koivu On IR 07 Jan 14

The Wild clash with the Kings tonight in Los Angeles.  Minnesota will then wrap up the brief two-game road trip Thursday in Phoenix.  The Wild have won two in-a-row on the heels of a six-game losing streak following Saturday’s 5-3 victory over Washington.  They sit at 22-17-and-5 on the season.  The Kings are 26-13-and-4.

 Wild Place Harding, Koivu On IR

The Wild placed goaltender Josh Harding and center Mikko Koivu on injured reserve on Monday.  Harding is out with an illness, while Koivu had successful surgery on his fractured ankle.  Harding is 18-7-and-3 with a 1.66 goals-against-average this season.  Koivu has eight goals and 27 assists in 44 games.  The Wild recalled defenseman Jonathan Blum and forward Erik Haula from Iowa.

 Wild’s Suter Named NHL’s Third Star Of The Week

Wild defenseman Ryan Suter was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week on Monday.  Suter led all defensemen with four goals and tied for first among blueliners with six points for the week as the Wild went 2-and-1.  The 28-year-old has five goals and 24 helpers in 44 games overall this season.
