A New Ulm man was injured in a 1-vehicle accident just south of New Ulm this (SAT) morning. 26-year-old Michael Kotzer was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup southbound on Brown County Road 13 when the truck started to slide on a snowy bridge near Flandrau State Park at just before 7:30am. The pickup then slid into the east ditch and struck some trees, receiving moderate front end damage. Kotzer reported a minor back injury but did not seek immediate medical attention.
Two people were involved in a car crash in Brown County’s Cottonwood Township south of New Ulm Friday afternoon. It happened at just after 1:30pm at the intersection of Brown County Roads 13 and 24 near Searles. A 2005 GMC Sierra pickup driven by 35-year-old Alan Flor of New Ulm was traveling westbound and failed to see the oncoming southbound Honda Accord driven by 56-year-old Dennis Cumminskey of St. Peter and the 2 vehicles collided in the intersection. Flor’s vehicle struck Cumminskey in the drivers side, causing it to enter the ditch. Cumminskey was not injured, and the extent of Flor’s injuries is unknown.
