Winterfest activities are underway in the City of St. Peter, with several community events taking place as part of the annual festival. The Winterfest Medallion Hunt kicked off the more-than 2 weeks of events in St. Peter last Friday, and the medallion was found Thursday night by St. Peter resident Rick Wright. He found it in Mill Pond Park in St. Peter, and wins a thousand dollars in chamber bucks for his effort. Winterfest activities continue through February 8th, with a schedule of events at www.stpeterchamber.com/winterfest. One of the highlights of Winterfest is the Polar Bear Plunge, which starts at 1pm this Saturday at Hallett’s Pond. Participants will take the plunge into the icy waters of the pond to benefit the Special Olympics.
