Sleepy Eye City Council Recap 15 Jan 14

The Sleepy Eye City Council on Tuesday revised the city’s snow removal policy, approved a subsidy for the Sleepy Eye Historical Society, and took a step towards banning e-cigarettes from public places.  Parking is prohibited in the Emergency Snow Route in Sleepy Eye when a Snow Emergency is declared, and vehicles must be moved from these areas within two hours after the emergency is declared. In residential areas, vehicles must be moved within 24 hours after a Snow Emergency is declared. The council also approved a $3,200 subsidy to the Sleepy Eye Area Historical Society during Tuesday’s meeting, and held the first reading of an ordinance amending the Clean Indoor Air Act to include electronic cigarettes.
