The Nicollet County Board on Tuesday approved preliminary changes to proposed 2014 values for taxes payable in 2015. The changes were proposed by Nicollet County Assessor Doreen Pehrson. The increase to tillable land for 2014 will be 20%, with a 10% increase to the bottom three tillable land classes. The board also approved proposed increases to residential properties, including 5% hikes to residential structures in the cities of Courtland, Nicollet, North Mankato, and St. Peter, as well as a 10% hike for townhouse and patio homes in St. Peter. The changes were unanimously approved.
