A Heron Lake man is in jail facing multiple felonies after a major drug raid at his home on Friday. Authorities searched the home of 51-year-old Esteban Chavez-Cruz and allegedly found 4 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 pounds of marijuana, $50,000 in cash, and 5 firearms. The items were reportedly discovered in hidden compartments under the floor of an upstairs bedroom. Chavez-Cruz was not home at the time of the raid, but was later arrested during a traffic stop when two more ounces of meth were seized from his van. The total street value of all of the meth he was allegedly in possession of is being estimated at $80,000. Chavez-Cruz remains in custody on a quarter-million dollars bond.
