Courtroom Security Increasing 02 Jan 14

Increased security screening takes affect at the Brown County Courtroom as of today (THU). All persons entering the courtroom will now be subject to security screening, including metal detection of hand-carried items. Items prohibited in the courtroom are handbags, purses, coats, fanny packs, tote bags, backpacks, packages, food, drinks, tobacco products, lighters, matches, any weapons – including pocket knives, and personal protective devices such as pepper spray. Lockers are available for items not allowed in the courtroom. Items that are permitted in the courtroom include a wallet or change purse that fits in a pocket, cameras and cellphones – which must be turned off prior to entering the courtroom, required court documents and medical items needed for safety and well-being. Photography is prohibited in the courtroom.
