Weekly Minnesota Influenza Report 20 Dec 13

The Minnesota Department of Health says influenza activity continued to increase across the state over the past week. The geographic spread of the flu in Minnesota is now classified as “Local.” There were 22 influenza-related hospitalizations in our state over the past week, including 1 in south-central Minnesota, and a total of 66 hospitalizations since the start of the flu season. No deaths have been reported from influenza for this season at this time. There were 3 school outbreaks across Minnesota the past week, but no outbreaks in long-term care facilities in the state.
