Vikings Final Road Game Sunday 20 Dec 13

The Minnesota Vikings will try to play the role of playoff spoiler the final two weeks of the season.  The Vikes visit playoff-contending Cincinnati this weekend.  The Bengals will try to take another step toward the postseason after losing 30-20 last week at Pittsburgh.  Cincy holds a one-game lead on Baltimore atop the AFC North.  Cincinnati is 9-and-5 and can clinch the division with a win this week and a Ravens’ loss or tie against New England.  The Bengals are a perfect 6-and-0 at home.  The Vikings are still winless on the road at 0-6-and-1, although they did beat the Steelers in London as the home team.  Minnesota put up a season-high 48 points in beating the Eagles last week to improve to 4-9-and-1 overall.  Kickoff on Sunday is set for noon.

  Vikings-Bengals By The Numbers

When the Vikings plays at the Bengals on Sunday, it will mark the 12th time the two NFL teams will have played against each other.  Minnesota leads the all-time series with six wins and five losses.  The last time these two clubs have played against each other is 2009, which was a 30-20 win by the Vikings at the Metrodome.  The Bengals won the last contest played in Ohio, with a 37-8 win over Minnesota in 2005.  The Vikes are 5-and-0 all-time against Cincy in games played in the Twin Cities.  The Bengals have won five of the six games contested in Cincinnati.   The lone Minnesota win in Cincinnati came in 1992 when the Purple won 42-7.
