Two teens from Gaylord were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 5 Tuesday afternoon. 16-year-old Ashley Grack was driving a Ford Explorer westbound on 5 about 3 miles east of Gaylord when she lost control of the SUV at just after 3:30pm and collided with an eastbound Pontiac G6 driven by 23-year-old Jacob Brandt of Gaylord. Grack was flown to the Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries and her passenger, 15-year-old Sadie Quast of Gaylord to North Memorial in Robbinsdale. Brandt was taken to the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington with non life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles were totaled.
Three people were hurt in a head-on crash on Highway 19 near Gaylord Tuesday morning, with two of them suffering serious injuries and being flown to the Twin Cities. It happened at just after 7am between Gaylord and Winthrop. A Chevy HHR driven by 44-year-old Rosalba Colin of Winthrop was traveling eastbound on 19 when it collided with a westbound Ford Ranger driven by 40-year-old Michael Engfer of Watertown. Colin and her passenger, 37-year-old Julio Rodriquez of Winthrop both suffered serious, but reportedly non life-threatening injuries, and were airlifted to North Memorial in Robbinsdale. Engfer was taken to the Sibley Medical Center in Arlington with non life-threatening injuries.
