Construction is underway on the new “Sibley County Heritage Center” at the Sibley County fairgrounds in Arlington. The large steel structure near the racetrack at the fairgrounds will be used for entertainment during the fair, as well as educational and informational presentations. During the winter it will be used for storage. The total cost of the new commercial building will be around $250,000, with $50,000 coming from the state and the rest being covered by sponsorships and donations as well as storage revenue. Work on the building is expected to be done by July, right in time for next year’s Sibley County Fair.
