Restitution For Triple Fatality Crash 11 Dec 13

A 22-year-old Cokato man who was sentenced to over 5 years in prison in August for a car crash that killed 3 people last year has now been ordered to pay more than $37,000 in restitution to the victims’ survivors and their insurance company. Paul Anthony Wickenhauser had avoided a jury trial in the case by pleading guilty to 3 counts of criminal vehicular homicide. A 68-year-old Atwater woman and her daughter-in-law and 8-year-old grandchild were all killed in the head-on crash near Willmar, and a 5-year-old was seriously injured. Wickenhauser had been drinking prior to the accident, and was just over the legal limit for driving when it occurred. He was sentenced to 67 months in prison.
