MN Man Bell Ringing World Record 09 Dec 13

After five straight days of bell ringing, 105 hours in all, Salvation Army Captain Jim Brickson of Albert Lea put down the bell Saturday night–ending in a three-way tie with two men from California and Texas for the bell-ringing world record. The previous record had been 80 hours. Brickson says the mental fatigue of standing in one place for that long was more taxing than the physical fatigue of continous bell ringing. The record attempt was meant to draw attention and money to the Salvation Army’s holiday red kettle campaign for those in need.
