Flu season is beginning to ramp up in Minnesota, and the state Department of Health says the key to preventing the spread is for sick people to stay home. Spokesperson Jennifer Heath says that includes keeping kids out of school and daycare, where it can go quickly from a couple of cases to an outbreak. A total of 36 people were newly hospitalized with influenza in Minnesota last week, a 50% increase over the week before. There have now been a total of 104 hospitalizations for the flu in our state so far this season. Last season was Minnesota’s worst flu season in five years.
