Local Holiday Train Donation Totals 09 Dec 13

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train stopped in New Ulm and Springfield on Sunday, and made generous donations to the food shelfs in both communities. Around 400 people were on hand for the Holiday Train stop in Springfield, and over 1,000 spectators enjoyed the train’s holiday lights and live music in New Ulm. Canadian Pacific officials presented both the Springfield Area Food Shelf and the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf with $5,000 checks, and food shelf donations from local residents were being accepted at both stops as well. In Springfield a total of 395-pounds of food and $694 in cash was collected, and in New Ulm food shelf donations totaled 797-pounds of food and $676  in cash.
