A fire early Sunday morning caused more than a million-and-a-half dollars in damage to the building and contents of a rural Hutchinson trucking company. Hutchinson firefighters were called out to the GR Daniels Trucking Company on Turner Avenue in McLeod County’s Acoma Township at just after 1am Sunday. A truck driver arriving to pick up a load had apparently discovered the fire in the shop area. The shop and office area burned. Three semi tractors and a farm tractor in the shop were destroyed, but all office documents were able to be saved. A total of 5 area fire departments helped battle the blaze, and no injuries were reported. Damage is being estimated at $1.6-million, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
