Accused Murderer To Plead Insanity 17 Dec 13

The Minneapolis man accused of killing a Mankato woman earlier this year will argue that he is not guilty by reason of insanity. 24-year-old Levi Minissale is facing 1st degree murder charges for the stabbing death of his ex-girlfriend Yesenia Gonzalez on June 6th. In court on Friday, Minissale’s attorney filed for a Rule 20 evaluation. That means they do not believe he was sane at the time the alleged crime occurred, and ask for an independent court-appointed examiner to determine his mental health. That examiner will have 60 days to make their report to the court.
