A St. Peter man is facing felony charges after leading authorities on a car chase early Sunday morning. The State Patrol says that 38-year-old Nathan Gilbert Johnson was parked awkwardly at the intersection of Highway 22 and LeSueur County Road 102 when a trooper pulled up behind him. Johnson reportedly then started to drive away, and the trooper pulled him over and discovered that Johnson had no license and smelled strongly of alcohol. He then allegedly drove off, heading north on Highway 22, and the trooper followed him onto Highway 169 and then Highway 99 before Johnson turned his vehicle in to a residential area in St. Peter and the pursuit ended when the car got stuck on a boulevard. Johnson is facing charges of felony fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and 4th-degree DWI, and remains in custody in the Nicollet County Jail.
