A Texas man accused of taking part in a drive-by shooting in Renville last year was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 5 years of probation in Renville County Court on Tuesday. A 3-year prison sentence was stayed for 36-year-old Javier Eliserio Barajas Jr as part of a plea deal. He pleaded guilty to felony drive-by shooting, and 10 additional felony charges, including 2nd-degree assault and weapons possession by a person convicted of a violent crime were dismissed. The crime occurred in May of 2012 in Renville. Three people were shot at, and they all identified Barajas as the man who got out of a vehicle, shot a .40-caliber handgun at them and then got back into the vehicle and sped away.
