Plows Are Ready Across Minnesota 05 Nov 13

Some winter weather is expected to impact southern Minnesota tonight, and the snowplow operators are ready. Mn/DOT’s Kevin Gutknect says their maintenance operation has been getting ready for snow and ice for several weeks now, making sure vehicles are in good working order and ensuring salt sheds and sand piles are at required capacity. He says that they have 1,400 snowplow operators stationed around the state. He’s reminding everyone driving in wintry weather to slow down and pay close attention to the driving conditions.

The latest forecast has a Winter Weather Advisory going into effect for our local area at 4pm today (TUE), through 6am Wednesday, with 3-5 inches of snow possible.
