The owner of part of New Ulm’s Marktplatz Mall made an appearance in court Tuesday on a misdemeanor theft charge, and was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Sibley County. Randy Danielson has been charged with theft over accusations that he took a ladder and some scaffolding that had been left on his side of the mall. A wall marks the beginning of his third of the property. Danielson reportedly refused to return the stolen items when confronted by police, and was charged with theft, but then failed to appear in court last week and was arrested. He was released after posting $300 in bail, and did show up for court on Tuesday, and that’s when the Sibley County warrant for Driving After Revocation was discovered and he was taken back into custody. He was released after posting $200 in bail. Danielson’s next court date on the theft charge in Brown County is set for November 26th, and he’s due in Sibley County Court on December 5th.
