The New Ulm City Council is scheduled to hold the second reading and adopt an ordinance dealing with the penalties for liquor license violations this (TUE) evening. During a recent meeting the council agreed to keep the city’s 2-tiered “Best Practices” penalty structure for establishments caught selling alcohol to underage persons, but did vote to increase the financial penalty for most of the fines by $250. The penalty for a first-time offense by a Best Practice establishment will remain unchanged. In other business this evening, the council is scheduled to consider an agreement with Bolton and Menk Engineering to design an improved water access site at Minnecon Park. The New Ulm City Council meeting starts at 5pm today at New Ulm City Hall.
